Course Details
If you’ve always wondered what lies beneath the surface, now’s the time to find out. Start the journey of a lifetime with the PADI Open Water Diver course. It will change you forever. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques.You earn this rating by completing two separate sessions which are described below.

PART 1 Cost and Session Description:

Using PADI’s proven instructional methods; you get into the water quickly and safely.Before attending the classroom portion of this course, you are required to complete the Knowledge Development Reviews at the end each five sections of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and watch the corresponding section of the PADI Open Water Diver Video (which also previews skills you’ll learn). After completing the classroom lecture sessions you head to the pool where you’ll learn everything from setting up your gear to easily getting water out of your mask without surfacing. You’ll also practice some emergency skills, like sharing air – just in case. Plus, you may play some games, make new friends and have a great time.
There are five confined water dives, with each building upon the previous. Over the course of these five dives, you attain the skills you need to dive in open water.
This session can usually be completed within 3 days from Friday to Sunday.
PART 2 Cost and Session Description: Session Fee - $150.00
After your confined water dives, you continue learning during four Open Water dives with your PADI Instructor at a dive site. You have up to 12 months after completing the Part 1 to complete the Part 2. This is where you have fun putting it all together and fully experience the underwater adventure – at the beginner level, of course.
If you would like to be certified during the winter months, join us on one of our instructor led Scuba Travel Getaway’s to such locations as the Caribbean or the Florida Key’s.This will allow you to complete your certification with us in warm tropical waters!
This session can usually be completed over a weekend.
OPEN WATER REFERRALS: If you have scheduled a trip we will provide you with a referral for PART 2 if you complete PART 1 with us.
Prerequisite: Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably comfortable in the water can learn to dive.If you are currently under the care of a medical doctor or have a pre-existing condition that requires permission from a physician, you will need to have a PADI medical release form {provided by Adventure Sports} prior to any in-water activities.
Minimum Age: 10
A junior Open Water Certification is provided to children ages 10-14.
Course Includes:
- Personalized instruction by a certified PADI Instructor & Divemaster.
- All SCUBA gear for use during PARTS 1 & 2 at no additional charge.Includes; BCD, regulator, octopus, gauges with compass, wet-suit, weights and tank.
- All air fills for PART 1.
- PADI Certification card upon successful completion of PART 1 & 2 sessions.
- For your safety, all Adventure Sports dive instructors are certified professionals, with current training in CPR and First Aid.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide scuba mask, fins, snorkel and dive boots.
- Purchase a PADI Open Water Diver Crew Pack.
- Provide hood and gloves for Open Water PART 2 if local weather conditions require it.
- Prior to first classroom Part 1 session you must watch the PADI instructional video, read all of the course materials and complete all 5 knowledge reviews.
- Provide entry fee for PART 2 dive site and any necessary air fills.
- Bring 2 passport size photos to the first session of PART 1.
